  Jordan Cohen - STANLEY

For TEATRON Theatre: THE DYBBUK; CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER. Jordan has been acting since age 10. His passion for the arts grows with each new production. Now, at the age of 23, Jordan has been featured in several commercials, and is in the new upcoming film DEFINING INSTINCTS. When not on stage, or in front of the camera Jordan is a full time gold and silver trader at Cache Metals, Toronto. 

 

  Nicole Fairbairn - KATE

Nicole is thrilled to be making her Toronto theatre debut with TEATRON Theatre. Originally from Vancouver, she has performed in many plays.  Some of her favourite roles include Flora in HUMBLE BOY, Bobbi in LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS, Vicki in NOISES OFF, Alexa in AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN, the female characters in THE BLUE ROOM, Christine in MY SISTER IN THIS HOUSE and Sandy in THE CRACKWALKER.  She co-founded a theatre company in Vancouver (Naked Goddess Productions) where she co-produced and starred in several plays including a Fringe play that took place in her one bedroom apartment. Nicole is also a busy voice-over actor and has worked professionally in voice-overs for several years.  She has appeared in several short films, commercials and television shows including JUST CAUSE and TRAILER PARK BOYS.  She is thrilled to be working on another Neil Simon show as he is one of her favourite playwrights.

  Vanessa Graymason - NORA

For TEATRON Theatre: THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO.  Recently: HOW IT WORKS (Theatre North West).  Selected Elsewhere:  RED CARNATIONS (Walking the Dog Theatre); POWER OF ONE (Sorren Bennick Productions); THE LIFE AND TIMES OF QUEEN MEG (Shakespeare & Company); ROMEO AND JULIET (ShakespeareWorks); BROKEN RECORD (2006 Toronto Fringe Festival); SPADINA MONOLOGUES (Alumnae Theatre); MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR (Alchemy Theatre); A NIGHT AT THE THEATRE (Mixed Company); GREASE (Barrington Stage Company); MEASURE FOR MEASURE, PERICLES, CYMBELINE (ShakespeareAlive!).  Vanessa’s film credits include: NIGHT EXPRESS (in production); FLASH OF GENIUS; QUEEN OF THE ZOMBIE PUNKS; DINNER AND A MOVIE. Training: LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art), Shakespeare & Company Conservatory, York University Theatre Programme – B.A. Honours. Vanessa is thrilled to be working with TEATRON Theatre once again.

B.J. Jeroy - EUGENE

TEATRON Theatre début. Other theatre credits include: Mitch in A SINGULAR KINDA GUY; B.J. in THE POWER OF ONE; RJ in PROBLEM CHILD; Owen in THE MELVILLE BOYS; Johnny in LOVE AND LARCENY. His film, television, and media include: TOMFOOLERY; MY LITTLE PACKAGE; FINDING UGLY; PHOBION (VG): UNLOCKING THE TREASURE CHEST. Most recently, Amelia in HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA - a New Teatro production. An immortal fox demon/ villager in an adaptation of Robin Muller's THE NIGHTWOOD with Back Burner Productions. Earlier this year he read on stage for Theatre Kairos in the HOTScralws Festival, and is very happy to have had the chance to reprise that role in October at Theatre Passe Murailles. BJ is a graduate of the Toronto Film School acting program, and has been working as an actor in Toronto for 2 years now.

 

  Laella Saffer - LAURIE

Laella is passionate about performing and has acted in numerous theatre and film projects. Her credits include Emily Webb in OUR TOWN; Mia in DESPERATE; Mrs. Bedwin / Charlotte Sowberry in OLIVER!; Bella in LOST IN YONKERS; Arielle in FOOTLOOSE; Alice in WORKSHOP IN WONDERLAND and Grandma Tilly in CHILDREN’S THEATRE. Laella is thrilled to be making her TEATRON Theatre debut in this iconic play. She wishes to thank Ari for the amazing opportunity and her family for their continued belief and support.

 

  Jeanette Tyzer - BLANCHE

A veteran of over 10 years in the film and television industry, Jeanette’s passion for the theatre brings her back to her original roots.  This is Jeanette’s first time working with TEATRON Theatre and she is absolutely thrilled to be part of the cast of BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS.  Jeanette is a graduate of York University holding a Bachelor of Humanities and Theatre in addition to a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in theatre arts.  Jeanette is also an accomplished singer, classical pianist and composer and has studied with the Royal Conservatory of Music for over two decades.  Selected theatre credits include: BIRD BATH, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, ALBERTINE IN 5 TIMES. Selected Film credits include: CONFESSIONS OF AN AMERICAN BRIDE, SOULFOOD.  Jeanette would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for the many years of love and support to her husband, mom, dad, sister and friends.

 Arnie Zweig - JACK

Arnie has been involved in community theatre productions for over 35 years playing both dramatic and comedy roles   He is very pleased to be part of TEATRON Theatre both as an actor and on the Board of Directors.  This is his third production with Teatron—the first as Hirshman the Cabbalist in Chayefsky’s THE TENTH MAN, the second starring as Eddy Ross in Herb Gardner’s CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER.   Other credits include: a Texas boyfriend in A MURDER MYSTERY, a forlorn husband in MIXED DOUBLES and Otto Frank in THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK.  By day he is a lawyer playing comedy and tragedy in his practice.

Ari Weisberg - DIRECTOR / PRODUCER

Ari’s directorship and design credits include EDMOND, THE MELVILLE BOYS, THE AFFECTIONS OF MAY, MURDER AMONG FRIENDS, THIS NIGHT, THE CHOSEN, THE SISTERS ROSENSWEIG, HOME OF THE BRAVE, THE TENTH MAN, THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO, THE GOD OF ISAAC, CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER, CHAIM’S LOVE SONG. A GLIMPSE OF THE LIGHT and THE DYBBUK Ari is the founder and artistic director of TEATRON Toronto Jewish Theatre. He worked for 18 years as a director and a producer for television in Kingston, Ontario. Later he was able to come back to his first love, live theatre.
