 Mark Albert – Actor: Arthur

Mark has had the pleasure of working with a number of different theatre groups including Encore Entertainment in which he was well received as  Sam,” the pickle man", in Crossing Delancey and Arnold in A Thousand Clowns.  Most recently, adding to the experience of performance art, Mark enjoyed being cast in a double role in Sabrina Noble's Fringe Festival play Whipering Lodge.  This is Mark's debut performance with TEATRON Theatre, but has come to know and respect the work of those involved in this relatively new venture. Thanks to the continued support of friends and family for occupying some of the seats and making some of the noise - at the right times.

His first interest in Theatre started at age 9 in Public School. He wrote, produced, directed and starred in a play about Richard the Lion Hearted.. the Knights of the Round Table, Lancelot and Guinevere. Very ambitious and much too long. His interest in show biz never waned and he spent most of his  business life in and around the arts, in broadcasting and music. He studied seriously with Basha Hunter, Ted Kotcheff and Ray Lawlor, and began to find work in TV. He was in the very first international CBC telecast and onto an American network, Live in those days. Always interested in record production, he began to work for record producer John Capek (who co-wrote hits for Rod Stewart and Diana Ross) in the mid 1970’s, garnering production experience and working as a session vocalist and/or vocal arranger on many television and radio commercials and on record for people such as Sylvia Tyson (formerly of Ian & Sylvia) . He produced a fusion jazz/folk instrumental album for multi instrumentalist Mink (k.d. lang’s co-writer and co-producer) that was engineered by Daniel Lanois (noted producer of U2, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, Emmy Lou Harris) . Allan had two singles released in 1981 on Toronto’s Boot Records (a rootsy label founded by Canadian icon, Stompin’ Tom Connors) that gained widespread Canadian airplay. It was basically done to make a musical connection with his father, using the traditional melody but producing it his own way. After receiving encouraging responses from friends and colleagues, he completed an entire CD entitled “Searching for My Voice”. In order to maintain the intimate connection to his father, he recorded this project by himself, singing all the vocal arrangements and playing all the instruments.
